Man and woman killed in crash are named

A man and a woman who were killed in a road traffic collision have been named by police.

Officers yesterday identified the victims of the incident on the A937 Montrose to Laurencekirk road, which happened on Saturday, as Scott Mowatt, 31, and Paisley Bates, 26, both from Arbroath.

Police said inquiries were ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call them on 101, quoting incident number 5027.
