One-day wonder: Biggest single-day livestock sale in Europe held in Sutherland

Sheep farmers gathered in their droves at Lairg auction mart in Sutherland yesterday for the great annual sale of lambs.

Lairg market hosts the lamb sale, which is the biggest one-day livestock market in Europe, when some 20,000 sheep from all over the north of Scotland are bought and sold.
