Aberdeen No need to worry

- Steve Wilson

I’ll be honest and admit that at the start of the summer I was slightly worried about the team’s prospects for this year.

The possibility of losing the management team was a real one and with both Jonny Hayes and Niall Mcginn leaving there was a concern that we could struggle to replace them. Greg Tansey having already signed meant that the loss of Ryan Jack was not an issue as we had improved on that position and our defence whilst depleted was still our first choice line-up but our forward line was a worry.

Six weeks later and with the arrival of Stevie May it’s difficult to see what I was worried about. The strength in depth is as good as it has been in almost decades and it can be argued that there have been upgrades throughout the team.
