Tribunal to hear four red card appeals

- By IAIN COLLIN

The Scottish FA have confirmed four appeals have been submitted following a weekend of indiscipline in the Premiership.

Six red cards were shown, Motherwell being reduced to just eight men in their 4-1 defeat by St Johnstone.

Rangers will bid to overturn Ryan Jack’s sending-off for violent conduct in their 3-2 defeat by Hibs after lodging a “notice of player reference” by yesterday’s 3pm deadline.

Hearts are also contesting Esmael Goncalves’ dismissal for violent conduct following the striker’s tussle with Kirk Broadfoot at Rugby Park.

Motherwell have appealed the red cards shown to keeper Trevor Carson and defender Charles Dunne, both for “denying a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity” in their Mcdiarmid Park defeat.

Tomorrow’s fast-track Hampden tribunal will also consider an appeal by Motherwell to overturn Dunne’s dismissal in last week’s Betfred Cup win over Ross County.
