Silent Witness star stabbed by attacker

Disabled Silent Witness star Liz Carr was left hospitalis­ed after being stabbed in the head by a scissor-wielding attacker in London.

The actress, who is in a wheelchair and portrays scientist Clarissa Mullery in the popular TV show, was lunged at by a man near Euston station in central London last week.

She is recovering from a slash wound following the attack while her carer was also taken to hospital.

She said: “Thanks to everyone who has sent their love and good wishes following last week’s stabbing.

“Just to reassure you that whilst it was very frightenin­g at the time, I came out of it relatively unscathed and was 0 Liz Carr: ‘Looking forward to returning to filming’ even back home later that night.

“Looking forward to returning to filming on Silent Witness next week where thankfully all the violence is fake!”

Carr suffers from rare genetic condition arthrogryp­osis multiplex congenital and has been in a wheelchair since the age of seven.
