Boy, 15, charged over fire at bowling club

A teenage boy has been arrested and charged after a massive fire at a bowling club in Fife.

Around 40 firefighters were called to the blaze at Denbeath Bowling Club, Buckhaven, on Wednesday.

The building, which included Denbeath Miners Welfare Institute, was closed in 2013 due to rising maintenance costs.

Police Scotland said the 15-year-old would be reported to the Chidren’s Reporter.

A spokesman said: “Officers are following a positive line of inquiry in relation to another suspect.”
