‘Red alert’ to block Grace Mugabe

Zimbabwe’s president Robert Mugabe is in South Africa as his wife faces accusations of assaulting a young model and police said a “red alert” had been issued to prevent her from leaving the country.

Mr Mugabe, 94, flew into Waterkloof air force base in Pretoria with his entourage late on Wednesday night, apparently to help his wife Grace with the scandal.

He arrived early for a regional summit of southern African nations to be held this weekend.

South Africa’s minister of police Fikile Mbalula said all borders have been notified to prevent her leaving the country.
