Man, 21, dies after vehicle strikes barrier

A man died in a road crash after his vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier.

The incident happened on the M80 near Moodiesburn, North Lanarkshire, on Thursday.

Officers said that at round 7:50pm, a 21-year-old man was driving his Vauxhall Corsa northbound on the M80, near Junction 4, when it appears the car went out of control and struck the central barrier.

He was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he died.
