Ben Nevis snowless after mild winter
The highest mountain in the UK has no snow for the first time in 11 years.
Iain Cameron, a contributor to the Royal Meteorological Society and an avid snow watcher, believes only three patches of snow survive in Scotland’s mountains – one on Aonach Beag in Lochaber and two on Braeriach in the Cairngorms.
Mr Cameron believes the remaining patches could also vanish like the ones on Ben Nevis – which has not happened since 2003 – mainly due to a lack of snow last winter.
