Pensioners flee blaze in nursing home

Elderly residents had to flee a nursing home in Fife after it caught fire.

Forth Bay Nursing Home in Kincardine was hit by the blaze at about 3:20pm yesterday.

Nine fire engines and two height appliances were sent. The building was evacuated and all residents and staff were accounted for. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoma­n said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 3:19pm on Monday, 21 August, to reports of a fire within a nursing home at George Street, Kincardine. There are no confirmed casualties.”
