Football fans oppose new liability rules
The majority of Scottish football fans oppose or are unsure of plans to introduce strict liability rules.
A survey by Supporters Direct Scotland found 52 per cent of fans do not want strict liability even though 81 per cent of those polled think the national game has an issue with sectarianism.
Following violence at the 2016 cup final, justice secretary Michael Matheson said the Scottish Government was considering the introduction of strict liability, which could see clubs hit with point deductions or forced to play matches behind closed doors if they do not act on sectarianism or violent behaviour.
