Fringe Sunday showcase may be revived

-

A revival for the free “Fringe Sunday” event is to be explored – nearly a decade after it was last staged.

The Fringe Society is to consider bringing back the long-running showcase, which was scrapped after the event 2008 event due to funding problems.

Sir Timothy O’shea, chair of the board, told the society’s AGM that its demise had been “a disappointment”.

He added: “The Fringe Society team of the time felt it was too much money to spend on a half-day event. Given resources are limited, for it to reoccur in its previous form it would need somebody to associate their name to it.”

Society chief executive Shona Mccarthy added: “It’s something we should definitely reconsider and look at for the future.”
