Scribbler to up Glasgow offering with third outlet

- By SCOTT REID

Greeting card retailer Scribbler is expanding its Glasgow presence with a third store.

Property consultancy CBRE said it had secured the firm for 122 Buchanan Street on behalf of the landlord, Royal London Asset Management.

Founded by husband and wife John and Jennie Procter in 1981, Scribbler is known for its edgy humour and unconventional take on traditional greeting cards.

The retailer already has Glasgow stores on Sauchiehall Street and at Central Station.

Kevin Sims, senior director in CBRE’S retail team, said: “After a competitive bidding situation we secured Scribbler immediately after the previous tenant went into administration, showing the continued strength of occupier demand for Buchanan Street.

“In this age of large global brands it is also good to see there is still space for strong independent retailers on one of the UK’S premier shopping streets.”

Neighbouring retailers include Diesel and Hobbs.
