Airline hits passenger milestone

A landmark four million passengers have flown with Emirates from Glasgow Airport, the airline has announced.

Flights to Dubai started from the airport in April 2004, with many passengers travelling on to destinations including Thailand, Australia and India from the middle east hub.

There are now two daily Emirates flights from Glasgow and just under 23,000 passengers used the service in July.

The airline’s cargo operation also carries millions of Scottish exports such as whisky, salmon and cheese around the world.
