#DOUGLASROSS

Tory MP Douglas Ross was criticised after using an interview to suggest his top priority if he became Prime Minister would be ‘tougher enforcement against gypsies’. The Moray MP’S remark was slammed by Travellers organisations but he remained unrepentant. @Mhairihunter tweeted: “Just a reminder that Douglas Ross replaced (former SNP Westminster leader) Angus Robertson. From the sublime to the ridiculous.” @Gerryhassan added: “Tory MP Douglas Ross criticised over offensive gypsy remarks – 24 hours on and still no word from Ruth Davidson.” @Craig_killie tweeted: “Genuine question – if a player made the comments about Gypsy Travellers that Douglas Ross (a referee) did, wouldn’t they potentially face SFA sanctions?”

#NATIONAL BURGER DAY

This ‘holiday’ is marked in late August every year. @Yourcashuk tweeted: “Is there any better news to wake up to than finding out today is dedicated to BURGERS?!” @Martinbelam joked: “Sad to see# National burger day becoming more commercialised every year. People have forgotten the true meaning.” @Nataliebrereton wrote: “Happy FREAKIN’ #National burger day to the burger gods that make my life complete. I love you all. Long may it continue!” @Abiwilks added: “I just celebrated national burger day by making a donation to the ‘Mcstrike’ fund supporting striking fast food workers.”

#EMINEM

Rap icon Eminem was in Glasgow for the first time since a gig at Hampden in 2003 as he performed at Bellahouston Park. @Adeline_finlay wrote: “Eminem is in #Glasgow tonight and I’m not seeing him! Was lucky to see him and #D12 at Gig in the green 16yrs ago but tonight will be epic.” @Bazfoye tweeted: “Buzzing for the Glasgow Summer Sessions with Eminem, looking forward to seeing the greatest rapper of all time again.” @Clg_84 added: “Welcome back to Glasgow Eminem … can’t wait to see you do your thang later on this evening.” @Fraserlindsay83 cautioned: “Anyone who thinks they are going to hear brand new music from Eminem in Glasgow tonight is deluded.”
