Kilmarnock manager Lee Mcculloch is delighted to see defender Stuart Findlay return to the club after signing on loan.

The centre-back is back at the team where he enjoyed a successful season two years ago on an initial six-month loan from Newcastle.

Findlay, a 21-year-old who came through the ranks at Celtic before graduating to first-team football with the Magpies, made 27 appearances for Killie in 2015-16 and Mcculloch feels he has improved since then.

He said: “He has been here before, soknowsthecluband fans. He came from a big club in Celtic, came through their youth system, went down to Newcastle where they just extended his deal and he’s played with their first team and he’s now with us.

“[I am] delighted to have him on board, he’s great in the dressing room.”

Findlay joins a squad who are yet to get off the mark in the Premiership in their three games so far this season, with the latest result a 2-0 defeat at home by Celtic.

But Mcculloch is refusing to panic just yet, despite only goal difference separating his side and the foot of the table as they prepare to face Hamilton, who have made a fine start to the season.

“League-performance wise, we’re pleased, there’s just a time when you need to start getting points on the board.

“We will just keep our composure and playing our way.”
