Strike – The Cuckoo’s Calling

JK Rowling’s soldier-turned-detective Cormoran Strike is introduced to the viewing public in this three-part drama. Based on her bestselling novels written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, Tom Burke plays the down-on-his luck gumshoe who is sleeping in his office after splitting up with his girlfriend.

The first case concerns the apparent suicide of supermodel Lula Landry, who fell from a balcony in Mayfair. The police have closed the case, but Lula’s brother John is convinced foul play is involved and hires Strike to investigate.

Holliday Grainger co-stars as Robin, new assistant to Strike, who soon becomes involved with his caseload and begins to see her true potential.
