OAPS hit hard

-

I have never written a letter to a newspaper before in my life, but I am furious with the proposed cuts to the pension er bus pass. At a time when the Scottish Parliament can find £ 180 million to cut airport taxation for middle- class people flying abroad, they are set to hurt pensioners with the life - line bus pass being taken away.

Ask any small tourist business and they will tell you they rely on pensioner day trips far more than any other group. Ask the NHS and social care how vitalit is for pensioners to get out and about. This will hurt pensioners, the bus industry, the tourist industry and damage the environment. What on earth are the politicians thinking? MALCOLM DAVIES Ferry Road, Edinburgh
