Man arrested after gas supply disconnected

A man has been arrested after some properties had their gas supplies disconnected following an incident in Forres.

Officers at Police Scotland said that a small number of people were evacuated after the incident in the town’s Stuart Street on Monday evening.

A 26-year-old man was arrested from a property in the street.

Scottish Gas Network staff were in the area yesterday to re-connect the affected addresses.

A police spokesman said: “A 26-year-old male was arrested from a property within the street.”
