#QUEENSFERRY CROSSING

The Queensferry Crossing trended heavily as the new bridge welcomed its first motorists – or those who could handle the lengthy queues, at least. @Ottod27 said: “The queue for the Queensferry crossing is miles long. Build another bridge.” @Jordandelrey said: “The traffic is insane. Queues all the way from Queensferry Crossing to Halbeath P&R” @Davekidd_58 said: “For crying out loud ppl, the queues for @Frc_queensferry are unbelievable. It’s a bridge, it will be there for a while” @linda_lamond said: “Sitting in a huge queue waiting to cross the @FRC_ Queensferry, good way to spend your day off, lol”

#KEZIA DUGDALE

Kezia Dugdale’s shock resignation as leader of the Scottish Labour Party was described yesterday as a ‘bolt from the blue’. Opinion was divided over her decision to step down. @Jennygilruth said: “Dignified, compassionate & principled. PS @kezdugdale, are you now free to wash the dishes?” @Ed_miliband said: “@kezdugdale: you gave your heart and soul to leading Scottish Labour. Thank you. You deserve to get your life back. Enjoy.” But @Mrtopple said: “Feeling a bit queasy re outpouring of affection for Kezia Dugdale. No one forced her into the job, nor made her tell people to vote Tory...” @Absentee_tweep said: “Glad Kezia Dugdale is finally doing the decent thing. I just hope she hasn’t permanently ruined Labour in Scotland.”

SOCIAL BITE

Josh Littlejohn, founder of charitable sandwich bar enterprise Social Bite, announced a new initiative yesterday. Named Sleep in the Park, it is hoped up to 9,000 people will take part in the Edinburgh event this December. A host of stars, including Liam Gallagher and Bob Geldof, will support the project. @Heatherpeebles said: “HUGE news from the heroes @Socialbite_. There’s no stopping them! Can’t wait for #Sleepinthepark” @Stephenbmci said: “Can’t wait for this, kudos to @Socialbite_” But @lynseymckeown said: “I appreciate the good work but I just don’t agree with celebs pretending to sleep rough when it’s nothing like really sleeping rough!”
