Dunfermline Magic Johnston

On 8 May 2015, all the talk was of David Cameron’s General Election victory and the resignations of Miliband and Clegg – except in Dunfermline, where steam came off keyboards, as news spread that Allan Johnston was our new manager, before googling him! Although Allan won 18 caps and played at the highest level, his famous Hearts hat-trick at Ibrox was the highlight we all knew.

Today he has just gone through the 100-game mark and Dunfermline top the Championship, without turning the Sunday paper upside down! He had taken over a club ranked seventh in League 1 and demoralised since administration. With Sandy Clark, a football marriage made in heaven, he is turning the club around.
