Body found in hunt for missing man

A body has been found in a river as part of a search for a missing man. Jamie Mcculloch, 27, disappeared in Lanark on 27 August.

Police Scotland said officers recovered the body of a man from the River Clyde, close to the town’s Kirkfield Bank, yesterday.

Formal identification has not yet taken place. However, the body is believed to be that of Mr Mcculloch, officers said, and his family has been told.

His death is being treated as unexplained. A post-mortem examination will take place.
