Woman dies after being struck by car

A 49-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car near the village of Kintore in Aberdeenshire.

Anne-marie Glass, who is believed to have lived locally, died after being hit by a Volvo on the B987 near the Torryburn Hotel at Broomhill at 4.50pm on Saturday.

Police closed the road for several hours while investigations into the incident were carried out.

They said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

A police spokeswoman said: “There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
