EU says UK to Air Berlin bailout

The EU has approved the €150 million (£137m) loan by the German government to troubled low-cost carrier Air Berlin.

The European Commission, which polices state aid rules, said that the loan “will allow for the orderly wind-down of the insolvent airline Air Berlin without unduly distorting competition”.
