Brechin City Daring to dream
Well, where did that come from? Great stuff from Scotland who played the Lithuanians off the park inside a ground with more Scotland fans than their Lithuanian rivals. As soon as the whistle went, Scotland came out the traps, which has been lacking in previous games, bar England. It was a must-win game for the national side if we were to keep our qualification hopes alive.
Monday evening and a miserable night, what could go wrong? Scotland, knowing a victory over Malta along with England beating second placed Slovakia, would put us straight back in the mix. A goal in each half was enough to seal all three points and with the “Auld Enemy” winning it put us within a point of second place.
