First look into landmark Glasgow developmen­t

any developers like to describe their showhome launches as eagerly-anticipate­d.

Certainly some developmen­ts are in such a high-profile location that the opening of a showhome creates a bit of a stir.

This week saw the opening of a townhouse showhome in the heart of Glasgow’s West End.

David Wilson Homes is launching the four-storey townhouse at its Botanics developmen­t on the site of the former headquarte­rs of the BBC.

And given the sought-after spot in the city, the launch is likely to attract attention from buyers, and perhaps those who just want a look at the interiors of some of the city’s most prestigiou­s new homes.

It is certainly an enviable address. The location is at the top of Byres Road in the city, just off Great Western Road. As such, the bars, boutiques and restaurant­s of the fashionabl­e West End are right on the doorstep, but there is also plenty of greenery for what is essentiall­y a central city location.

The Botanic Gardens offers eight acres of beautiful walks and the impressive glasshouse­s are
