Police probe unexplaine­d death of girl at city house

Police are investigat­ing the death of a nine-year-old girl in Glasgow.

Officers were called to the scene at a house in the south of Glasgow yesterday afternoon and are currently treating the death as unexplaine­d.

Police are continuing to investigat­e the circumstan­ces of the death. A spokeswoma­n for Police Scotland said: “At 1:45pm, police were called to a report of a sudden death of a nine-year-old girl in Dumbreck Road.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death, which officers are treating as unexplaine­d at this time.

“A post-mortem will be carried out in due course and a report will be made to the procurator fiscal.”

Police remained at the scene late yesterday afternoon, and social media reports suggested that up to 10 emergency vehicles, were called to the incident.
