Offshore worker dies in industrial accident
A man from Aberdeenshire has died while working offshore in west Africa.
Philip Westerman, a remotely operated underwater vehicle operator, who was 30 and from Ellon, died in an industrial accident in Congolese waters.
His employer Fugro Subsea Services said the cause of death is being investigated and that its thoughts were with his family.
A spokesperson said: “Next of kin have been informed and are being supported. Our thoughts are with family, friends and colleagues at this sad time.”
