Nissan sets tails wagging with X-trail Paw Pack

Nissan has launched an accessory pack for its successful X-trail SUV that aims to take the pain out of transporting man’s best friend. In the knowledge that many owners use their X-trail to ferry their dog around, the Japanese manufacturer has come up with the Paw Pack - an accessory kit with “six carefully chosen components” that will turn its boot into a “comfortable and welcoming travel space for canine family members”. The new pack is clearly inspired by the X-trail 4Dogs concept that Nissan promoted earlier this year. That model featured buttoned faux leather upholstery, a built-in TV with video link to the driver, an automated food bowl and a doggy shower. Those features haven’t made it to production but the £599 Paw Pack does feature a stowable ramp to ease access for smaller or older dogs; a dog guard boot separator; washable dog bed; non-spill water bowl; boot liner and a tidy for leads, treats and waste bags. Grant Richards, X-trail product manager, commented: “We’re delighted to release this innovative Paw Pack as we believe strongly that pets are important members of the family, as well as excellent travelling companions for those outdoors adventures. “The X-trail Paw Pack lets our beloved companions travel with all the comfort and convenience we’d expect, and we look forward to helping our customers buy the perfect car for all their family — including their dogs.”
