#IRMA

Hurricane Irma is expected to make a landfall in the US with winds of 155 miles per hour.

@Lcwxdave said: “Hurricane #Irma about double the size of #Andrew, the last Category 5 to landfall in the US back in 1992.”

@Ericholthaus added: “Irma’s hurricane-force wind field packs tremendous destructive potential, more than 5x the energy of Hurricane Andrew.”

@kurteichenwald noted: “Rush Limbaugh – who called Irma coverage a liberal hoax – has decided to flee the liberal hoax.”

@Truefactsstated joked: “Is it OK to hope that Trump’s properties are devastated by Irma while sparing the rest of Florida?”

#MURRAYFIELD

Hearts are set to play their first game at Murrayfield since welcoming Barcelona to the home of Scottish Rugby in 2007 with Tynecastle’s Main Stand still being built. Aberdeen are set to bring around 7,000 fans.

@mrewanmurray tweeted: “Amused by Hearts fans making ‘alternative’ drinking plans for tomorrow. It’s about an added four-minute walk. Murrayfield, not Moldova.”

@Bbcjohnbeattie offered: “My opinion? Murrayfield is a wonderful stadium, rugby is not a snob’s game, football and rugby should share it in peace and harmony.”

@Forzakds said: “People still think Murrayfield is a good stadium for watching football? Amusing. 15m grass area behind goals and running track pitchside.”

@Murcog81 enthused: “Be good to see Hearts v Aberdeen at Murrayfield – should be THE national stadium in my opinion.”

#ZOMBIEAPOCALYPSE

A survey by Yougov found 11 per cent of Britons had a plan for zombies if they were to turn up. Hiding somewhere was the most popular.

@Claire_phipps tweeted: “My plan for the zombie apocalypse is to live blog the zombie apocalypse”

@tkbeynon noted: “Huge respect for the 9% of people who refused to divulge what their plan would be in the event of a zombie attack”

@The_great_88 joked:

“What about heading to the Winchester and waiting for it all to blow over?”

@afishnhischips shared: “The old advice still stands though: you don’t have to run faster than the zombies. Just faster than your (hopefully tastily plump) friend...”
