More than 900,000 broadband links
More than 900,000 extra homes and businesses could gain access to superfast broadband by the end of the year, partly thanks to a clawback system which will see £645 million reinvested, the UK government has announced.
The cash is made up of £180m of efficiency savings and £465m set aside by BT under a recycling system that reinvests money when people take up superfast connections. This will help the government reach its target of superfast broadband available to 95 per cent of the UK.
