Anger as council temp bags £115k for six months
A temporary council employee earned £115,000 for just six months of work.
The interim head of digital transformation at Highland Council was paid almost £40,000 more to fill the role for six months than the £77,000 annual wage offered when the contract had been permanent.
The council have defended the salary, claiming the temporary worker may have saved the authority up to £900,000 as well as “reputational damage”.
SNP opposition leader Maxine Smith demanded answers from the administration about the high bill.
