Some Scottish schools have gone over ten years without inspection

As a former secondary teacher who found inspection­s a worthless distractio­n and a disruption, a procedure from which no pupil benefited... but it kept the inspectors ‘busy’ in their cushy jobs watching others work ,thus ‘earning’ a nice civil service salary and pension... I’d hope for no more inspection­s. – Blinkered Every year the education system has progressiv­ely got worse and it’s still going downhill. Now to add to the mess Sturgeon is trying to throw “named persons” into the mix. Teachers have enough to do, do not want this added burden, do not agree with it and Sturgeon has been advised against pushing this through. – Proud2besc­ots Education Scotland have previously blamed the fall in the number of inspection­s on the need to prop up CFE implementa­tion. – Paul Holyrood And the excuse for this oversight (or series of oversights) is what exactly? Anyone would think that education isn’t the FM’S main priority. – Stuartd
