Flagging interest

While watching the Last Night of the Proms this weekend I was appalled at what I witnessed, people in the Albert Hall waving EU flags.

It was totally rank crass and inappropriate and in some part spoiled the show for me. The Proms is a British tradition and was not, and never will be, European. Is there no depth to which the disgruntled Remainers will sink? While watching I was aware that the cameras were focusing on these people numerous times, this should have never have been shown by the BBC, but it does not surprise me, Auntie has always been biased in favour of remain before and after the referendum.

I hope lessons will be learnt from this and the only flags that should be waved are Union Jacks. The irony is the EU flags were waved vigorously when Rule Britannia was played – “Britain will never be slaves”. Remainers seem to forget that if we had voted Remain, Britain would have remained metaphorically enslaved to the EU!
