Full steam ahead: P&O hails busiest August in 14 years on Irish route

P&O Ferries saw the highest number of tourists in 14 years travel between Larne and Cairnryan on its ships in August, it emerged yesterday. The ferry and logistics giant, which has operated services across the Irish Sea since 1974, carried 65,296 tourists between Northern Ireland and Scotland in August – traditiona­lly the busiest month of the summer season – a 7 per cent increase on the same month last year and marking the busiest August for the Larnecairn­ryan service since 2003. The route also carries freight.
