Woman and boy stable after crash near museum

A woman and a five-yearold boy were struck by a car as they crossed the road in the west end of Glasgow.

The collision, which involved a Volkswagen Touareg, happened at 4:50pm on Monday afternoon outside Kelvingrov­e Art Gallery and Museum in Argyle Street.

Both pedestrian­s were taken to hospital where they are in a stable condition. A spokeswoma­n for Police Scotland said: “The 46-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the five-year-old boy was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Glasgow.

“Hospital staff describe the condition of both as stable.”

Officers from Police Scotland are continuing their inquiries and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
