Revamped WL Gore hails strong finances
Fabrics firm WL Gore & Associates said it had built a “sound platform for future opportunities” despite reporting a dip in turnover.
The UK arm of the business, which is headquartered in Livingston, also said it had maintained strong after tax profitability of £17 million for the latest financial year.
The update follows a restructuring programme in its fabrics division and continuing operations at its “performance solutions” facility in Dundee.
During the last 12 months, the fabrics arm implemented a phased withdrawal of manufacturing at the Livingston plant and focused operations on product sales and support of global businesses from the UK.
Rodger Pheely, a director at the Gore-tex firm, said: “The directors remain of the opinion that the regional mix of future shipments together with the impact of significant changes to the fabrics operations will mitigate any potential negative consequences of Brexit on the trading activities of the company.”
