Dundee reveal plans for new 15,000-capacity stadium

Dundee have confirmed that their proposed new stadium on the outskirts of the city will have a capacity of 15,000.

Thefinerde­tailsofthe­mixeduse developmen­t at Camperdown have been revealed in documents lodged with Dundee City Council.

Managing director John Nelms and fellow owner Tim Keyes bought 29 acres of land beside Dundee Ice Arena last year. The Dens Park outfit also want to build four training pitches on land currently owned by Dundee City Council.

As well as constructi­ng a purpose-built new stadium, the plans also include a new 100-bedroom budget hotel, a crematoriu­m and space designated for up to 70 flats and 140 houses. Commercial units and community facilities such as restaurant­s, a gym and crèche are also part of the proposals.

The club will hold a preapplica­tion public meeting next Friday at Dundee Ice Arena ahead of formally submitting a planning applicatio­n before the turn of the year.
