NHS staff join call for 3.9% pay rise

-

Scottish NHS workers have joined colleagues in the rest of the UK in calling for a 3.9 per cent pay rise and an extra £800.

Trade union leaders have said that the rise is necessary because of real-terms cuts in wages in recent years.

And they argued that, taking inflation into account, pay for NHS workers had slumped by 15 per cent since 2010.

Union leaders will formally submit the claim to the NHS pay review body and ministers at the Scottish Government next week.
