Title pressure is on Grange
Grange coach David Knipe knows that if his charges are to wrest the first division crown from 13-times champions Bromac Kelburne they must take the three points from today’s home fixture against Grove Menzieshill, writes Craig Madden.
The Edinburgh side had the better of their exchanges last season but the Taysiders finished a very creditable third in the table.
Knipe said: “Menzieshill have some great players but also play well as a team. It should be a good game between two pretty even sides.”
The last time the sides met at Fettes on league business Menzieshill lost their cool and also the game 4-1. A repeat would certainly suit Knipe.
Menzieshill player/coach, Gavin Byers said: “Grange are always a difficult team to break down, a very strong unit who play good hockey. We will have to be right on it if we are to take a positive result away from this game.”
