Disruption after station evacuation

Waverley Station in Edinburgh was evacuated after a fire alarm was activated, causing disruption to rail services.

Emergency services were called to the station at around 10:50am yesterday.

A spokeswoma­n for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said crews found a fault in an air conditioni­ng unit but there was no fire. Police Scotland later tweeted that the incident was not suspicious.

The station was reopened at around 11:40am.
