Acid attack in Marseille ‘not terror’
An acid attack on four American women in Marseille is not being investigated as an act of terrorism, French officials said.
A spokeswoman for Marseille’s prosecutor said that the 41-year-old woman arrested as a suspect in the attack did not make any extremist declarations.
It is reported that the suspect had a history of mental health problems and did not try to flee the scene of the attack.
A spokesman for the Marseille fire department said two of the tourists were injured in the face in the attack in the city’s main Saint Charles train station and one of them has a possible eye injury.
