Scottish arm in front as revenue jumps at PWC

- By SCOTT REID

Professional services giant PWC has reported record fullyear revenue as its investment in both people and technology pays off.

The Big Four accountancy firm said revenue had risen to £3.6 billion for the year ended 30 June, up 5 per cent from the year before.

In Scotland, revenue rose 6 per cent, marking the fourth year in a row Scottish growth has outpaced the UK, although no figure was disclosed. The assurance, consulting and tax business divisions grew by 4 per cent, 7 per cent and 7 per cent respectively, with the deals practice down 1 per cent as solid transaction services based growth was offset by the winding down of some longterm insolvency and forensic assignments.

Lindsay Gardiner, regional chair for Scotland, said: “As across the UK, this has been a challenging year but I’m delighted that we have managed to not only keep operating to our high standards but also grow the business.”
