Keuter’s debut has six appeal

New signing Davyn Keuter made a dream debut for Edinburgh University with a double hat-trick of set pieces to see off city rivals Inverleith 8-5 at Peffermill, writes Craig Madden.

The 24-year-old South African played in the second division last season but celebrated his first appearance in the top flight with four penalty corner strikes and another two from the spot. The students’ other goals came from Ewen Mackie, also on his debut, and Ian Moodie.

Grange sealed a 2-1 win over fellow title challenger­s Grove Menzieshil­l at Fettes, while champions Bromac Kelburne predictabl­y saw off Clydesdale 6-3.

Newly promoted Dundee Wanderers broke their duck with a 4-0 home win against Hillhead, and Western Wildcats had a 1-0 victory over Uddingston.

In the women’s first division, defending champions Edinburgh University beat Watsonians 5-2, while Milne Craig Western remain top after thumping Kelburne 5-0.
