Disruption to the fore at Glasgow’s Venturefest
Technological disruption will be touted as an opportunity rather than a threat at a major business innovation summit in Glasgow this week.
Venturefest, which is taking place at the city’s Science Centre, connects business owners, entrepreneurs, investors and innovators and provides a platform for companies to access the tools, advice and funding they need to take their businesses to the next level.
An “innovation showcase” will see some of Scotland’s most innovative companies present their products and services to an audience of investors and entrepreneurs.
Intellectual property firm Marks & Clerk, which is sponsoring the showcase element, said there was an increasing awareness among Scots firms that disruption can be an opportunity rather than a threat.
Patent attorney Graham Mcglashan said: “We’ve seen more and more young Scottish businesses finding the confidence to be quick adopters and exploiting the power of disruptive technologies.”
