Bumper order for UK bus maker

A UK bus manufacturer has secured a £21 million order to supply 114 buses to one of New Zealand’s biggest public transport operators.

Yorkshire-based Optare said the deal was one of the biggest in the history of the business, with the first of the Metrocity vehicles due to be delivered in March 2018. The firm employs some 300 workers at its assembly site near Leeds.
