Robertson Group posts record fullyear sales

Contractor Robertson Group has reported a record year for turnover and its strongest-ever forward order book.

The mini-conglomera­te, which says it is one of the largest privately-owned businesses of its kind in the UK, said it “continues to experience growth in all its group companies”, with its activities covering constructi­on, infrastruc­ture and support services.

The Stirling-based group, which has more than 2,200 staff across the UK, said that in the year to March, there was a 28 per cent year-on-year increase in turnover to £580 million, and pre-tax profit reached £26m, up by 22 per cent. “This sustainabl­e profit growth has added further value to its already strong balance sheet, with net worth increasing by 34 per cent,” it added. Its forward order book amounted to £2.3 billion.

Executive chairman Bill Robertson said the firm is “delighted” with further progress across its 21 operating companies, with the group flagging constructi­on, major projects and partnershi­p homes work.
