Top two facing vital clash

-

Today’s Marine Harvest Premiership clash between leaders Kyles Athletic and second-placed Kinlochshiel, separated only by goal difference, is not a title decider,

writes Alasdair Bruce.

However, a win for either side would put them in pole position ahead of the final round of league fixtures.

Hosts Kinlochshiel will be along usual lines for possibly their last competitive game before relocating from Kirkton. Kyles have been without injured Callum Miller in recent weeks and Roddy Macdonald is suspended.

Just a week before the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final, Lovat and Newtonmore are both in action. Lovat play Kingussie at Balgate and they will use Craig Mainland sparingly as he recovers from a strain.

Newtonmore travel to the Canal Parks to face secondbottom Kilmallie and could include Drew Macdonald, who returned from injury for the reserves last week.

Glasgow Mid Argyll’s yearlong stay in shinty’s top flight will be over if they don’t take something against Oban Camanachd at Mossfield. Oban keeper Gavin Stobbart returns from suspension but Garry Lord and Scott Mackillop are out.

Marine Harvest National Division promotion hopefuls Caberfeidh and Fort William will be hoping to take maximum points at home to Beauly and Inverness, respectively.
