Former Liverpool Victoria boss becomes chair of Aegon UK

Mike Rogers, the former chief executive of savings and insurance group Liverpool Victoria, has been appointed as the new chairman of Aegon UK.

Rogers was the boss of Liverpool Victoria between 2006 and 2016 and prior to that worked at banking giant Barclays, rising through the ranks from graduate trainee to managing director of UK retail banking. He also currently holds non-executive director roles at Royal Bank of Scotland and Experian.

Commenting on the nonexecuti­ve chairman’s appointmen­t, Adrian Grace, chief executive of Aegon UK, said: “Mike has a very strong record and great experience in UK financial services across both banking and insurance and is a great choice to take on the role of chairman.

“We are delighted that he has accepted the role and his experience will help us to deliver on our strategy of supporting the financial advisers and workplace customers with the best tools and service in the market.”

Rogers added: “The business of integratin­g both the Cofunds and Blackrock DC businesses is progressin­g well and I’m looking forward to working with the management at a time when demand for financial advice, the growth of the DC savings market and the increasing requiremen­t for scale in the platform market make this an exciting sector of financial services.”
