10 September 2016 was a day of infamy, which will live long in Pars history. Fans across Europe, who had never heard of Dunfermlin­e or Cammy Bell, playing then for Dundee United, chuckled as his three penalty saves in 23 minutes went viral.

Cream rises to the top and many expected United to lead the Championsh­ip by now. The problem is you get clots in cream, and the Arabs have scored seven League goals to the Pars’ 21.

A year ago Dunfermlin­e took a long time to adjust to this level. That episode dented confidence. Today they go into every game expecting to win and are not burdened by the expectatio­n of a bigger club. We are pretty relaxed at a penalty too…
